Vanity Fair Magazine just released a sneak peak at their 20th annual Hollywood issue, and the cover is more colorful than ever! The magazine distinguishes Hollywood’s major players in the annual edition, but past issues have been criticized for lack of diversity. Keeping in step with 2013 which by all measures was a banner year for Blacks in Hollywood, this year’s cover features a record 6 actors of color.
The cover, a three-panel foldout by Vanity Fair contributing photographer Annie Leibovitz, features Oscar nominees Julia Roberts (August: Osage County), Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave), Jared Leto (Dallas Buyers Club), and Lupita Nyong’o (12 Years a Slave), as well as Idris Elba (Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom), George Clooney (Gravity), Michael B. Jordan (Fruitvale Station), Naomie Harris (Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom), Brie Larson (Short Term 12), Chadwick Boseman (42), Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street), and Léa Seydoux (Blue Is the Warmest Color).
Items of note:
-Idris Elba is fine as hell. As per usual.
-Julia Roberts looks fabulous and she’s giving me dancer Fosse legs.
-Lupita Nyong’o is killing the game. She is a Goddess. Her beauty ravishes me. I mean… I can barely look at anyone else.
